Vassilis Bakopoulos on guitar

Vassilis Bakopoulos played guitar with The Forminx. In the meantime, mister Bakopoulos earned the title professor, at the National Polytechnic University of Athens in 1963.


Before he played his guitar with the Forminx, Vassilis studied classical guitar at the conservatory. In the seventies and eighties, in parallel with his professional work as chemical engineer in Greece and Belgium, he kept on studying music-science.


After his retirement in 1998, mister Bakopoulos taught himself Classical Music Theory, Harmony, Counterpoint, Composition and Orchestration. He built his private homestudio and started to write his own music, mostly post-modern classical music and jazz. Mr. Backopoulos received the composer’s diploma in 2009 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a member of the Greek Composers’ Union since 2011.
